The Cedar Springs Middle School boys track team completed their 2010 dual meet schedule with a fifth consecutive undefeated season at 6 wins and 0 losses. The team ended their season by splitting into separate grade level teams to compete in two separate conference championship invitationals. The 7th grade team placed first in their first year of conference competition. They easily outdistanced second place Coopersville by 82 points. After finishing fifth in last year’s conference invitational, the 8th graders rebounded to finish in first place this year, defeating second place Sparta by only six points.
In addition to their outstanding performances at their conference championships, the 7th and 8th grade team combined to compete in the eight-team Bronco Classic on April 17. The team won the invitational for the tenth consecutive year, outscoring second place Kent City 138 to 85.
The track team enjoyed a great season this year due to their hard work, dedication and commitment to individually do what is necessary to make the team a success. Coach Martens and Coach Banagis would like to congratulate all team members on a fantastic season. A special “thank you” to all parents, staff members, high school coaches and athletes for always cheering our team on and for running great home meets!
