Turtle love!

Kyle and Mary Golden, of Grand Rapids, sent us a nice email and a great photo last week after reading our request to readers in last week’s paper to help get turtles to the other side of the road. They told us about another area where turtles often get run over—on the White Pine Trail.

“My wife and I ride the White Pine/Fredrick Meijer Trail on our road bicycles several times per week,” wrote Kyle. “We frequently relocate young turtles that are sunning themselves on the paved path to a nearby creek or river. They get hit by bicycles too often. The Turtle Rescue Team is awesome!  Great idea!”

Thanks, Kyle, for sending us this email, and for sending us this great photo of a young turtle! We’ll be sending you a certificate and a pin for the Post Turtle Rescue Team.

For other readers, there’s still time—send us your photo of a turtle rescue to postnews@charter.net and include a brief message and your contact info.
