There are some new faces at Family Fare that may seem strangely familiar.

Don Fetrow is the new store director at Family Fare on 17 Mile in Cedar Springs.

New store director Don Fetrow has been with Family Fare/Spartan Stores for close to 20 years. He said he worked at the Cedar Springs store as assistant director previously when it was Great Day. “I’m happy to be back in Cedar Springs,” remarked Fetrow. “I love the community, and it’s great to see some familiar faces.”

Fetrow lives in Allendale, but doesn’t mind the commute. “I worked on the other side of Grand Rapids and it took longer to get there than here,” he said. Plus, he said his parents live in Howard City, which is an added bonus. “I can run up there and visit them,” he said.

Fetrow was director at the Breton Meadow store on Breton and 44th in Grand Rapids for three or four years, has been an assistant store director, store merchandiser, and worked on special projects for Spartan stores.

He replaces Anne Petty, who moved to a different store.

Another familiar face is Howie Fischer, the store’s new assistant manager. Fischer worked for the store when it was Great Day in the 1990s, and recently came here from the Lake Michigan Drive store.
