Lila Jones

Mrs. Lila Jones, age 83, of Cedar Springs, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Good Friday, April 2, 2010. For many years she worked for Fisher Body General Motors (Alpine). Lila was a very wonderful, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and always there when you needed her. Sunday dinners were scrumptious (the best cook ever), and her home was so welcoming. Lila was an amazing person who always insisted that her grandchildren have a piece of candy when visiting. She loved shopping (grandpa called Lila and her daughters “roadrunners”), flowers, birds, and always fed the stray animals. She was loved and cherished by all of her family and is survived by her children, Judy and Mike Savage, Carol Ann Jones, Sherrie and Bob MacTavish; son-in-law, Jim Fragale; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren who she lovingly called “yous kids”; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Jones, her daughter, Suzie, and her son, Lloyd Jones. The Service of Praise and Thanksgiving for the gift of everlasting life through Jesus Christ for Mrs. Jones was held Tuesday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Compton officiating. Interment was in Solon Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of MI. Relatives and friends met with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
