Girls Track runs over Yellow Jackets, Knights

The Lady Red Hawks track team opened the 2010 season by hosting Greenville and Kenowa Hills in a double dual at Red Hawk Stadium on Monday March 29. The Red Hawks won both meets by scores of 71 to 65 over Greenville and 71 to 66 over Kenowa Hills.

Placing for the Red Hawks was:

Amanda Zinn in the 3200 relay.

1st Place: Amber TerHaar Shot Put and Discus; Abby VanDusen Long Jump and 100 meter dash; Heather Holmes High Jump; Haley Hawes Pole Vault; Breeann Ovokaitys 1600 and 800 meter run; Jessica Titus 3200 meter run; 3200 meter relay team of Katie Weiler, Jessica Titus, Amanda Zinn, and Breeann Ovokaitys; 400 meter Relay team of Brittani Tozer, Allie Veltkamp, Mercedes Oliver, and Abby VanDusen; 1600 Meter Relay team of Sommer VanDyke, Heather Holmes, Amanda Balczak, and Breeann Ovokaitys.

Amber TerHaar in the shotput.

2nd Place: Jeanette Sukstas Shot Put and Discus; Kayla Ovokaitys Long Jump; Shaelyn Fasel 100 meter hurdles; Sommer Van Dyke 100 and 400 meter dashes; Katie Weiler 1600 meter run; Amanda Balczak 300 meter hurdles.

3rd Place: Amanda Balczak 100 meter hurdles; Amanda Zinn 800 meter run; Sommer Vandyke 200 meter dash.

The Red Hawks travel to Kent City on April 8 for a spring break scrimmage at 10:30. They have their first OK Blue meet on Thursday April 15, when they host West Catholic and Belding for a double dual starting at 4:00 at Red Hawk Stadium.
