Leon R. Dubie

Leon R. Dubie, 76 of Sand Lake, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Metro Health Hospital. Leon was born August 22, 1933 in Maine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Marines and Air Force and had worked at Auto-Die retiring in 2001. He was an avid reader, enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. He was a jokester and made everyone laugh. Surviving are three sisters, Sheila White, Pauline Bova, and Irene Sturtevant all of Massachusetts. He will be sadly missed by his many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 1998, four brothers and sisters, Roland Dubie, Wilfred Dubie, Jeanette Sturtevant, and Diane Hancock. Visitation was held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where services were held Saturday, with Rev. Fr. Joseph W. Kenshol officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Chubbuck Cemetery, Kent City. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
