David C. Misner

_C-Obit-MisnerMr. David C. Misner, age 66, of Sand Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 13, 2009. He grew up and lived in Sand Lake his whole life and was a 1961 graduate of Sand Lake High School with only 25 members in his class. While in high school David played football, baseball, and basketball and worked for Merren Grocery in Sand Lake. Linda had known David since the 8th grade. She holds many precious memories of their walking together to attend the movies in Cedar Springs. On November 24, 1962, David married the love of his life, Linda Campbell at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church with Pastor John Frye officiating. His first job was with American Music Industry and then he worked for General Motors on Alpine, Fisher Body #2. David was a very hard worker, but he was a family man who took his children camping, yearly trips to Cedar Point, and traveled to Toronto to see the Blue Jays and Detroit to see the Tigers. He enjoyed doing the yard work and was the engineer of several projects. He strived to have everything just right. David was quiet and humble and was a member of the good Husband Club, the good Dad’s Club, and the good Grandfather’s Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children, Orville “Ed” Misner and special friend, Susan Preston of Sand Lake, Jill and Michael McElwee of Ada; grandchildren, Jillian Misner, Clare McElwee, Sean McElwee, Anne McElwee, Jane McElwee; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roderick Misner, and his sister, Ann Merlington. The service for Mr. Misner will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Sand Lake, with Pastor Lee Zabrocki officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Resurrection Lutheran Church for the Preschool Program or Tri-County Band Boosters. Relatives and friends may gather at the Pederson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
