The numbers are in!

The 2010 Big Lozer calendar has arrived

Obesity in America has reached an all time high, and Doris Vinton wanted to create a project that would help herself and inspire others to get healthier. “The pressures of quitting smoking, current economic lows, constant bombardment of high fat and calorie foods on the media, and other factors has become overwhelming for many of us,” said Vinton, the producer of the Big Lozer calendar. “I hope this calendar will benefit many people as it has myself.”

From June through October of 2009, the competition was fierce as 93 people joined in to encourage, educate, support and befriend one another towards becoming healthier and happier. In five short months, this remarkable group lost a total of 731 pounds, and is still losing.  Out of those 93 people, 24 reached the final weigh off, and the top 12 biggest losers lost a cumulative total of an amazing 446 pounds.  The final judging was based on the total percentage of body weight loss as to be most fair to all competitors, male and female.  The Big Lozer Calendar will depict the before and after photos of the 12 finalists, many fun photos of all the contestants and reveal the contestant’s weight loss programs.

First Place and $500.00 goes to Susan Sams, who lost 69 pounds at 23%; Second Place and $200.00 goes to Chad Armstrong, who lost 67 pounds at 19.19%; Third Place and $100.00 goes to Candice French, who lost 42 pounds at 16.34%; Fourth Place and $50.00 goes to Belinda Sanderson, who lost 38 pounds at 14.23%.  The following in order receiving $50.00 prize money goes to:  Tina Main, who lost 25 pounds at 12.95%; Amber Wood, who lost 20 pounds at 12.26%; Tim Sams, who lost 41 pounds at 10.46%; Guy White, who lost 31 pounds at 11.36%; Ruth Tomaszewski, who lost 22.5 pounds at 11.36%; Michelle Kranz, who lost 22 pounds at 10.73%; Beverly Chapman, who lost 39 pounds at 10.62%; and Kathy Trader, who lost 25 pounds at 10.46%.  “Congratulations and thank you all for being part of our weight loss challenge,” said Vinton. “Good luck to all that are losing weight and getting healthier.”
