Clarence Edward Bobb

Clarence Edward Bobb 89 of Cedar Springs went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born May 29, 1920 in Detroit, MI the son of John and Selena (Dyk) Bobb. He grew up in Genesee, MI and attended Genesee Schools until grade 10. He left school to help his invalid father run the family auto service station. He entered the service in the Army Air Corp and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre in the 9th Engine Overhaul Squadron as a Sargeant. When he left the service he attended finished high school at Holland High School and attended Hope College for four years on the GI Bill of Rights. He went to work for the U.S. Government in the Defense Logistics Agency. He served there for 53 years, retiring at the age of 81. He was a member of The Springs Free Methodist Church and NARFE. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Martha; children, Paul Bobb, Carolyn & Ted Spear, Rhoda & Eric Kreuzer, Clare Bobb, Joe Bobb, Susan & Brian Bishop; grandchildren, Jason Bobb, Buffy Bobb, Maxwell Bishop, Justine Bishop, Rick Kreuzer; five great grandhchildren. The family received friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.  The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at the Cedar Springs Free Methodist Church. Pastor Barry Briggs officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the church with a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place Friday 11:00 am at the Oakwood Stanley Cemetery, Genesee. Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund.
