Rockford Fiddle Fest

There is nothing so pure as a fiddle tune by the river. That is exactly what is going to happen on Sunday, October 4 in downtown Rockford at the Garden Park Stage next to the Rogue River.

As part of the Rockford Harvest Festival, the Rockford Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association will be presenting the second annual Fiddle Fest. This is the place that fiddle players and listeners want to be. All ages and all fiddle styles are welcome. Whether you play old style fiddle, Celtic, Cajun or other, we welcome you. It is fun, but it is also a place to make your mark. The age categories are from the very young to old time fiddlers. This is an up and coming fiddle festival that you want to be involved in and be able to say, “I played at the Rockford Fiddle Fest”.

There will be prize money (up to $800) to be awarded to the winners of the various categories. Audience admission is free and you are sure to hear some tunes that will get your toes atappin’.

Put the date of October 3 on your calendar and check www.rockfordmichamber.com or e-mail to Brenda@rockfordmichamber.com to get registered for this great fiddle event in West Michigan. There are limited entries for each category, so act now. See you in Rockford on October 4, 2009.
